Performance Engineering

Heading GT Performance Engineering is Brian Capper who has built engines for the finest privateer endurance squad in the world for over a decade. Beginning as "Team Bike" and ending as "Team MCN", this squad headed every other private team in the World Championship standings for nine years out of ten.

As well as building engines that are fast and reliable for endurance events Brian can also build engines that are just plain mind-bendingly fast; building Mike's Grainger's outrageous Turbo ZZ-R1100 for example that took the European speed record at 209mph with a timed one way of 222mph. Now we are making this expertise more widely available. GT Performance Engineering facilities include a Superflow bench for fine tuning engine gas flows, engine building, set-up and blue-printing with all the lavish care for which Brian is renowned. All of this can be tailored precisely to your project and budget.

GT Motorcycles is proud to have the only dynamometer shop facility in the South West. Mike is in no doubt about the new venture, "For years the Westcountry has been badly served for high quality tuning work. Even without the dyno, Brian's operation is such an asset on our site. With it there is almost no limit to what we can offer customers".

The Dynojet 250 is one of the most sophisticated pieces of equipment available. Rather than simply relying on the mass of its rollers to measure engine performance, it is equipped with an electronic "Load Control" brake, which adds substantially to its accuracy. A computerised interface spews out power curves and huge amounts of other engine data. Combine this, the latest technology, with a skilled operator and you can have a potent package working for you!

Here are some examples of what's on offer: At GT Performance Engineering we can set up your fuel-injected Suzuki on our Dynojet 250 Brake Dynamometer, re-mapping your bikes ECU with our "Yosh Box" to give optimum performance. We provide you with a booklet containing the graphs of your engine's performance. All this for as little as £130 including vat. If you have a full race system with air-box mod's and a Power Commander, we can perform the required Dyno set-up for £180 including vat.

For Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki; if you have purchased a Dyno Jet kit or a Power Commander we can fit and set this up for you for £180 including vat.
